Norwich City striker Steven Naismith is set to leave Carrow Road to join Premier League side Sunderland, according to journalist David Anderson on Twitter.
The 29-year-old only joined the Canaries in January and has made 18 appearances in that time, scoring twice. He’s also played in all five of Norwich’s league games in the Sky Bet Championship this season, and scored in their opening day win at Blackburn Rovers.
The Scotsman has a lot of Premier League experience in his locker, and could be a shrewd signing for the Black Cats.
He spent three and a half seasons with Everton and, in his time at Goodison Park, he scored 18 top-flight goals in over 100 league games. Naismith has also played in the Scottish Premier League for Rangers and Kilmarnock.
If the 29-year-old joins Sunderland, he will be reunited with manager David Moyes, who was his boss in his first year at Everton before he left to take over at Manchester United.
Yesterday, Norwich signed striker Nelson Oliviera from Benfica, which could have paved the way for Naismith’s exit.
