Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty is not keen on a move to the Sky Bet Championship as he vows to fight for his place at the Norfolk side, reports the Guardian.

Lafferty wants to stay at the Canaries

There has been reported interest from Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers for the forward's services, but the 27 year old striker claims he does not want to move to the second tier of English football.

Lafferty is yet to make an appearance for Norwich City so far this season as he is placed far down the pecking order in Alex Neil's plans. With first-team football hard to come by, the striker now has an uphill battle to regain his spot as a first-team striker for Norwich.

However, he has scored two goals in two games for Northern Ireland so far this season, proving that he can still find the net when called upon.

Bolton have been desperately searching for a striker over the last few weeks to strengthen their attacking options however, they look set to disappointed once again in their search.

Leeds United will be frustrated that they won't be able to call upon the Northern Ireland international too as they strive for the upper-reaches of the Championship table.

Commenting on his desire to stay in the Premier League, Lafferty said to the Guardian: "If he [Alex Neil] sits me down and says I'm not in his plans, then it's time for me to make a decision whether I go out on loan or stay and work even harder. I'm not going to throw the towel in now, take the easy option and go out on loan to a Championship team, play the long-ball game. I want to play against the best players in the world in the Premier League."

His attitude is likely to be appreciated by Alex Neil as the striker aims to work hard for his chance at the big time. However, with Championship first-team football almost a certainty for Lafferty if he wants it, it's surprising that Leeds and Bolton have been snubbed by the forward.

What remains certain however, is that Lafferty may have no choice but to move elsewhere if Alex Neil makes it clear to him that he is not needed.
