Norwich City star Emi Buendia has insisted that he will not leave Carrow Road in the summer, as he looks to realise his Premier League dream with the Norfolk club.

The Argentine signed for the Canaries from Getafe in the summer, for a reported fee of only £1.5million, but has since gone on to endure a quite remarkable season with the club.

The 22-year old played an influential role in Daniel Farke's side's title-winning campaign, scoring eight goals and producing 12 assists for the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship champions.

After such an impressive debut season in England, plenty of clubs are likely to be tracking the playmaker's signature in the summer, as will probably be the case with Max Aarons, Jamal Lewis and Ben Godfrey too.

But speaking to the Pink Un about next season, Buendia insisted that he only has eyes for Norwich, and wants to play a key role for them in the top-flight.

He said: "I have a contract and it will be a dream to play in the Premier League.

"For my taste it is the best league in the world, the most competitive. And it will be a pleasure to do it in Norwich, for the affection the people give us."

Norwich will be looking to cement their place in the Premier League next season, with Daniel Farke looking to once again recruit wisely in the summer, bringing in fresh, young talent for a cut-price.

The Verdict

Buendia's comments will definitely be very relieving for Norwich fans across the country.

Plenty of their first-team stars are likely to have many high-profile suitors in the summer, so for him to say that he wants to stay is massive news.

He was arguably Norwich's unsung hero this season, and was definitely one of the best attacking players in the Championship in terms of his output up top.
