Norwich City look set to lose their brightest prospect with Newcastle United closing in on a move for Jacob Murphy.

Murphy broke into Norwich's team last year following an excellent loan spell in League One with Coventry, scoring a sensational goal on the opening day against Blackburn Rovers.

He scored nine goals whilst on loan with the Sky Blues and managed another nine with Norwich last year, with six assists to add to that.

He also impressed with the England under-21 side who made the final European Championships this summer.

It leaves Norwich without a pretty important player who chipped in with more than his fair share of goals.

Daniel Farke needs a replacement, and whilst he's spent most of the summer exploiting the German market for his new recruits, his Murphy replacement should lie at Deepdale.

Preston winger Callum Robinson would be a magnificent replacement for Murphy.

He can play on either wing and actually out scored Murphy last year, scoring 10 goals.

He adds versatility to the squad too, with him able to play up front or in attacking midfield.

He's extremely similar to Murphy in his ability to beat a man.

Robinson also has rip roaring pace, and would provide a seamless replacement to Murphy in that regard.

Preston have continuously finished just outside the play offs since their promotion to the Championship, and the opportunity to play for a club with more realistic promotion hopes could be too good to refuse for Robinson.

With cash in hand from their Murphy deal, this would be a realistic and extremely exciting replacement for Norwich.
