Norwich City could be set to poach Plymouth youngster Ben Purrington this summer following promotion to the Premier League, according to the Eastern Daily Press.
Plymouth are in turmoil after manager John Sheridan left the club ‘by mutual consent’ after the club’s play-off heartbreak, where they lost to Wycombe Wanderers in the semi-finals.
Their 19-year-old left-back Ben Purrington has now caught the eye of Alex Neil, who probably won’t be signing him for first team football, but is looking to expand on his young talent at the club.
The Canaries are on alert as Purrington only has one year left on his contract, and Argyle are now reportedly bracing themselves for bids.
City left back Javier Garrido left the club last week after deciding not to sign a new deal, because of the lack of first team football he was given.
Norwich City were promoted to the Premier League after winning the play-off final, defeating Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough 2-0 at Wembley.
