Norwich City could welcome back Todd Cantwell tomorrow evening against Nottingham Forest, but the midfielder isn’t going to be ready for 90 minutes.
Daniel Farke is currently juggling a damaging injury list at Carrow Road, with Cantwell joining a host of senior players in the treatment room.
Cantwell, 22, has featured only five times this season and has been out Norwich’s last seven matchday squads in the Championship after a hip injury.
Quiz: Which club did Norwich City sell each of these 20 players to?
Now, the England youth international looks ready to return for Norwich and is set for a place in the matchday squad tomorrow night against Nottingham Forest, should he come through training today without issue.
As per Norwich’s official media, Farke said: “Todd Cantwell has been involved in parts of team training. If he trains today without issue, he will definitely be involved tomorrow.
“He’s not fully prepared for 90 minutes but could be part of the squad.”
Despite the loss of Cantwell and countless other first-team players over the last couple of weeks, Norwich have managed to retain their place at the top of the Championship table.
A stunning late comeback win against Sheffield Wednesday at Carrow Road on Saturday meant they stayed ahead of AFC Bournemouth, Reading and the rest of the chasing pack.
This is good news for Norwich.
Farke has so many first-team players out, with Cantwell amongst those. However, the midfielder has never really settled down after fierce speculation surrounding his future in the summer.
Getting him level-headed heading into a crucial period will be massive for Norwich.
He could be a key factor in this promotion push really kicking into gear.
