Norwich City striker Nelson Oliveira is set to make a move to Turkish giants Besiktas in January.

According to Turkish media outlet The Star, Oliveira is set to make his move after a £3m fee was agreed between the clubs, with Canaries agreeing to allow the former Nottingham Forest man to move on.

The Portuguese forward handed in a transfer request during the summer and has not been a member of the first team squad under Daniel Farke this term, and a move to Besiktas will bring an end to his time at Carrow Road.

Oliveira was fairly prolific in his first season with Norwich, banging in 15 goals and looking like becoming a top Championship striker after various loan moves of differing success while he was officially a Benfica player.

However, his transfer request in the summer plus the form of Teemu Pukki this season has meant the 27-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements under Farke.

The loss won't impact Norwich too much though, with the club currently flying high at the top of the Championship after a wonderful run of form has seen them emerge from the pack to sit at the summit.

The Verdict

Norwich fans won't be too fussed about this one, and it brings in a decent fee for someone who's not playing at all.

Oliveira is a talent, but when a player wants out, sometimes you just have to move them on for the good of the club.
