Norwich City man could be on the move with German club interested in making January move

Norwich City could be ready to cut their losses on German defender Marcel Franke, with Union Berlin reportedly interested in signing the Canaries centre back, according to the Eastern Daily Press.

The summer signing has failed to make much of an impression at Carrow Road this term, starting only seven games since sealing a move which was worth over £2m in the summer when Daniel Farke chose to bring him to the East Anglian club.

However, despite being highly rated, he has been kept out of the side and has failed to impress enough to warrant a regular place in the first team, and a move back his native Germany could well be on the cards in January should Berlin get their wish.

Franke has dropped down the pecking order to become the fifth choice central defender at Carrow Road, and has made only sporadic appearances under Farke since being dropped following a 4-0 loss at Millwall back in August.

Norwich will no doubt be looking to recoup some of their money should Franke move on, while the club will also no doubt be open to a loan move if it leads to a more permanent deal in the summer.
