Championship title hopefuls Norwich City are looking to sign on loan Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, if they are promoted to the top flight.

According to the Sun on Sunday (Print edition, Sunday 17th March 2019), the Canaries are keen on the Manchester United stopper, who has been a superb addition for the Blades this term, keeping seven consecutive clean sheets in what has been a fine run of form of late.

Henderson, who has become a firm fan favourite at Bramall Lane, will no doubt be keen on making a move for regular first team football next season too, with the chances of unseating David De Gea at Old Trafford looking slim to none.

The 22-year-old is expected to make a move away from Old Trafford next term, with Alan Nixon reporting that the Red Devils want him to play Premier League football next term as he seeks to continue his development in the game.

Norwich won once again this weekend at Rotherham to further strengthen their grip on the top two, in a weekend which saw rivals United win 1-0 at Leeds to move into second place.

Manager Daniel Farke will no doubt be planning for next season already, and will see Henderson as the ideal sort of signing if they can secure a spot in the Premier League.

The Verdict

It's not surprising that Henderson is a wanted man, such has been his form for Sheffield United.

It would be a bitter blow for the Blades to lose out on him to Norwich though, meaning more incentive for them to win promotion to the Premier League themselves.
