Former Norwich City forward Darren Huckerby has criticised the club's transfer policy, stating it as the reason the Canaries are in their current predicament.

Daniel Farke's men will lose Alex Pritchard to Huddersfield and have sent Yanic Wildschut out on loan to divisional rivals Cardiff City.

Huckerby expressed that he could understand the unhappiness of the fans about losing former Spurs man Pritchard - who has missed a chunk of the season through injury but was beginning to show signs of his best form in recent weeks - but hit out at the quality of Wildschut.

Dutchman Wildschut joined Norwich in early 2017 but only made 15 league appearances, scoring just twice and Huckerby's assessment of the player made he clear that he thinks the former Middlesbrough man is no great loss to Norwich - and he is glad to see the Canaries cut him off their wage bill.

The Verdict

Huckerby still cares about the club - that much is clear. He has been scathing of how the club has been run and as they approach the end of their parachute payments this season, without a real shot at promotion, you can see why.
