Norwich City keen to take 32-year-old Moroccan, talks take place over deal

Norwich City could look to bolster their attacking options with the signing of striker Marouane Chamakh who is currently training with former club Crystal Palace, according to The Norwich Evening News.

The Moroccan international has been without a club since his release from the Premier League club in June but with no contract offer forthcoming from the Eagles, Norwich look set to swoop on the free agent.

Boss Alex Neil has spent the majority of the summer scouring the market for a striker and although he secured the services of Nelson Oliveira, it looks as though the Scottish boss is not yet content with his squad.

The report suggests that Chamakh was at Norwich’s training base this morning to discuss a potential move to the Championship club.

The 32-year-old has not got the best goal ratio in English football, managing just seven goals in 59 appearances during spells with Arsenal and the Eagles.

With Cameron Jerome and Kyle Lafferty also still on the books at Carrow Road it is likely that Chamakh would only act as a peripheral figure for the club.

Norwich City fans, would you welcome Chamakh to the club? Can he play a part in any promotion bid? Let us know in the comments below!!!
