Rangers face competition from Championship side Norwich City over the pursuit of 17-year-old Aidan Fitzpatrick.

The Daily Express is reporting, via the Eastern Daily Press, that Daniel Farke has tabled a bid of around £150,000 for the Partick Thistle winger.

That figure is the up-front cost of a deal structured to be worth around £400,000 for the three-goal wide man.

Rangers, according to the Eastern Daily Press, hold an interest in the young Scotsman, with another Championship club in the form of Sheffield Wednesday also interested.

Fitzpatrick has three goals and two assists from 14 matches for the Scottish second-tier side in all competitions so far this season, although has only started three league games, with Thistle bottom of the table.

Norwich’s advances for the 17-year-old seem to indicate he could be one for the future and could be added to the Canaries’ U23 developmental side to develop ahead of a first-team chance later down the line.

The verdict

With a host of clubs interested in the young Scotsman, he must have some genuine talent to have two sides from the second tier looking at him at such an early age.

Throw in the interest of Scottish giants Rangers and Fitzpatrick will have a decision to make if any of the interest and offers are substantiated with an answer from Partick Thistle.

A move south seems on the cards with Norwich tabling a bid, but it could be the start of a bidding war between the trio of clubs for the services of the 17-year-old.

Expect this transfer approach to rumble on as the window progresses.
