The race for the signature of Jordan Rhodes is heating up as Norwich City enter the race for the striker, according to the Telegraph.
Sheffield Wednesday were linked with an incredible £12 million move for the Blackburn striker, but there is much speculation as to whether the Owls would actually be prepared to cough up that sort of money.
But on a short term basis, Norwich have joined Derby County in a surprising loan move for the 25-year-old. Both sides have long term injuries to forwards in their squads, with Derby’s Chris Martin and Darren Bent all currently injured.
Norwich have Lewis Grabban on the sidelines with an ankle injury which he is set to have an operation on.
An £8 million permanent move is also being considered by the two clubs, £4 million less then Sheffield Wednesday but Blackburn will consider moves after a transfer embargo due to breaching financial fair play rules and being disappointed with Rhodes’ performances this year.
It’s not been Rhodes’ best season, and he has only scored 13 goals in 35 appearances. He scored an incredible 25 last year and 27 the year before that.
The Canaries last game came against Millwall where they triumphed 4-1, leaving them in fifth place having amassed 65 points this season.
