Norwich City in the EFL: Remember Ivo Pinto? Here’s what he’s up to nowadays

When Norwich City decided to bolster their defensive options in 2016 by signing Ivo Pinto, not many of their supporters would have been able to predict just how big of an impact he would go on to have at Carrow Road.

The right-back joined the Canaries for a fee believed to be in the region of £2.2m in January 2016 and went on to make 10 appearances for the club in his debut campaign.

Pinto established himself as a regular starter for Norwich in the 2016/17 season as he featured on 38 occasions in the Championship.

As well as demonstrating his defensive skills at this level, the 31-year-old also offered a threat going forward as he was directly involved in five league goals.

Although he was unable to help Norwich secure a return to the Premier League during the 2017/18 season, Campo did produce some encouraging performances in the second-tier.

However, despite featuring on 41 occasions in all competitions for the Canaries in this aforementioned campaign, Pinto fell out of favour at the club in the following season and was subsequently released in 2019.

The defender opted to rejoin Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb following his departure from Norwich.

Whilst Pinto would have been hoping to deliver the goods on a consistent basis for the Blues, he has ultimately failed to make an impact at the Maksimir Stadium.

Loaned out on three separate occasions by the club, Pinto recently sealed a temporary move to Fortuna Sittard.

Between which years did Ron Ashman play for Norwich?

Since making this particular switch, the former Norwich man has gone on to feature on three occasions for the Dutch side in the Eredivisie this season.

Currently averaging an underwhelming WhoScored match rating of 6.36 at this level, Pinto will be hoping to kick-start his season by producing a positive performance against SC Cambuur on Saturday.

Fortuna Sittard could potentially leapfrog the likes of Sparta Rotterdam and FC Groningen in the Eredivisie standings if they secure all three points in-front of their supporters this weekend.
