Daniel Farke has confirmed that Teemu Pukki should be available for Norwich game against Sheffield Wednesday at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Pukki has been in excellent form this season, scoring seven goals in 13 matches for the Canaries, including five goals in his previous four outings for both club and country.

However, the Finland international sustained a hamstring straight during his last outing against Stoke City last month, which forced him to miss Norwich's last two games against Coventry and then Luton.

Quiz: Which club did Norwich City sign each of these 25 players from?

And Norwich suffered as a result of Pukki's absence, collecting just one point from two games, and were fortunate that the likes of Bournemouth, Watford and Reading all slipped up, which meant Daniel Farke's men just about  maintained their place at the top of the Championship standings.

But when speaking to the press on Friday morning, the Canaries manager confirmed that Pukki is likely to be available to face Wednesday - providing he came through training unscathed today.

"All the players who were involved v Luton are available tomorrow," Farke told Norwich official. "I can confirm that Teemu Pukki is back in training and, if nothing happens later today, he will be involved tomorrow."

The Verdict

This is a timely return for Norwich, and exactly the kind of boost that Farke needs following two poor results.

Norwich have more than enough quality in their squad to beat Wednesday without the Finnish striker, but their previous two matches has showed just how much they struggle without Pukki, meaning having the frontman back in their side will only improve their chances of getting three points.
