Norwich City have taken the unusual lengths to gain an advantage over their opponents.

The Canaries have gone down the somewhat unorthodox route of painting the away changing room pink, according to reports from a Norwich City fans’ forum via Sky Sports.

Norwich’s sporting director Stuart Webber told the club’s fans forum last Thursday that the redecoration had occurred during the offseason

Painting the away changing room a deep pink is an attempt to cut testosterone levels for visiting teams at Carrow Road.

According to Sky Sports, it is a tactic that has been used for years in the NFL, with some studies saying pink lowers aggression levels as well as the level of testosterone for the away side.

The news comes three weeks into the new season where Daniel Farke’s men have had mixed results so far having drawn one, and lost two of their three leave games so far.

Ironically, one of the fitxutes the Canaries tasted defeat was in their first home game of the season when then fell to a 4-3 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

The Verdict

This is bizarre.

Football clubs will try all they can to gain an advantage over there opponents but does this one really have an effect? No, it doesn’t.

The first home game of the season Norwich lost which makes it a stupid idea and a novelty way to try and get the slimmest of advantages.

Norwich should focus more on their tactics and actual football affairs rather than trying to create an atmosphere that is apparently meant to lower testosterone.

It clearly doesn’t work, so the club should go back to the drawing board and think about ways they can improve their side rather than waste time on stupid non-starters like this.
