Norwich City have been hugely impressive in their promotion-winning season under Daniel Farke and they've hardly put a foot wrong as they head towards the Premier League.

But it's unlikely that we'll see wholesale changes at Carrow Road, with Norwich's Sporting Director, Stuart Webber revealing that the club aren't going to spend a considerable amount in the summer transfer window.

"It'll be low, probably one of the lowest ever spent in the competition. I don't want to put a figure on it but it'll be low.

"We're still paying for some of the mistakes of times gone by and some of the expensive signings. This allows us to clear all of that out and realign ourselves as a club."

Now it would certainly come as a surprise to see the Canaries not spend a single penny as they start their preparations to adjust to life in the Premier League, but Webber's latest comments will be a concern.

There will be investment, but it remains to be seen as to how much that will be, although it doesn't sound too promising.

Norwich have already had a spell in the top-flight, where a lack of investment eventually saw them relegated, and fans won't want a repeat of that.

Daniel Farke has some quality players in his ranks at the moment and he'll be reliant on the majority of this year's squad heading into next year's campaign.

But if you're a Norwich City supporter, you're going to know full well that the Canaries need to invest and add some depth and experience to a relatively young squad.

Otherwise, they aren't going to be in the top-flight for very long at all, which is the worst possible scenario for everyone associated with the club.

They don't need to be throwing ridiculous amounts of money around though, with Fulham already being a classic example of their being too much of an overhaul in their preparations last summer.

The Norwich owners must stump up some cash, otherwise they'll be heading for an immediate return back into the Championship.
