After a quite remarkable season under Daniel Farke, Norwich City will now be preparing for life in the Premier League.

The Canaries blew the Championship away with their high-tempo, eye-catching style of football in the 2018/19 campaign, defying expectations to go on to life the Sky Bet Championship table last term.

Plenty expected Norwich to be in for a difficult season - they had sold star-man James Maddison to Leicester for £20million, but had seemingly failed to replace the current Premier League star.

A man called Teemu Pukki was signed on a free transfer from Brondby, with Argentine playmaker Emi Buendia arriving from Getafe for a reported fee of only £1.5million.

But little did anyone know that those two signings in particular would help the Norfolk club go on to achieve something quite remarkable - promotion to the top-flight after many gruelling years outside of it.

Pukki deserves the plaudits, winning the Championship Player of the Season award after signing for next to nothing, but Buendia is a player who often goes under the radar given how good his teammates have been.

The 22-year old scored eight goals and produced 12 assists for Norwich last season, and easily became one of the best playmakers in the division.

And, as the club look to prepare for life in the Premier League, the attacking midfielder has recently insisted that he wants to stay at Norwich next season, with potential transfer interest likely to surface from elsewhere.

Speaking to the Pink Un, he said: "I have a contract and it will be a dream to play in the Premier League - for my taste it is the best league in the world, the most competitive. And it will be a pleasure to do it in Norwich, for the affection the people give us."

Norwich fans will surely be delighted at this news - keeping the majority of their squad together will be beneficial next season, rather than fall into the same trip that Fulham did, whereby they tore up the spine of their squad to rebuild a practically new team altogether.

Buendia is arguably Norwich's most vital player going forward - he brings his teammates into the game and gets the best out of Teemu Pukki, whilst taking on a man and scoring goals for fun himself.

To show that much loyalty and commitment to the club must be a warm feeling for Norwich fans, and they will be euphoric with this piece of news.
