Norwich City are reportedly looking at a move for Paris St Germain striker Samuel Essende, who is close to leaving the French champions on a free transfer.

Goal.com report that Premier League side Brighton are also eyeing a move for the 20-year old, who has opted against signing a new deal in the French capital, instead allowing his youth contract to expire on June 30th.

The Canaries also face stiff competition from Belgian side Anderlecht, who have already held talk with the player, according to the reports.

He even has options in Italy, with Serie A side genoa thought to be amongst his vast collection of potential suitors.

PSG have yet to give up on the player, a product of their famous academy, they too are hopeful of retaining his services according to the Goal report.

Right-footed centre forward Essende netted nine four times in nine appearances in the UEFA Youth League last season.

The Verdict

Being linked with a player is one thing, but actually getting him is another.

With top flight options in England, Italy and Belgium, the terms would have to be incredibly attractive to take him to a Championship side.

PSG won't be impressed either, they've invested time and money in his development so they'll be keen to ensure they're set to benefit from whatever he chooses to do.
