Rocky Bushiri has now completed a permanent move to Hibernian from Norwich City after spending the second half of the 2021/22 campaign at Easter Road.

As confirmed by Hibs' official website, Bushiri has signed a three-year deal with the Scottish outfit after an option in his original loan agreement was triggered.

Signed by Hibernian for an undisclosed fee, the 22-year-old will now be looking to feature regularly for the club in the coming seasons.

Bushiri becomes the latest player to leave Carrow Road following Norwich's relegation to the Championship.

The Canaries opted to release Lukas Rupp, Josip Drmic, Josh Giurgi, Aston Oxborough, Nelson Khumbeni, Reece McAlear, Solomon Alidor-Hamilton and Olatunde Okeowo last month.

Meanwhile, Billy Gilmour, Brandon Williams, Mathias Normann and Ozan Kabak have all returned to their respective clubs following the expiry of their loan deals at Norwich.

Matt Dennis has also moved on to pastures new as he joined Milton Keynes Dons last weekend.

Norwich manager Dean Smith opted to make his first signing of the summer earlier this week as he secured the services of Isaac Hayden on an initial loan deal from Newcastle United.

Hayden will join the Canaries on a permanent basis if certain performance-related criteria is reached during the 2022/23 campaign.

The Verdict

When you consider that Bushiri failed to make a single senior appearance for Norwich during his time at the club, it is hardly a shock that he has now moved on to pastures new.

During the second half of the previous term, the defender featured on 15 occasions for Hibernian in all competitions.

Whereas Bushiri's exit is unlikely to alter Norwich's plans in terms of their transfer business, it is safe to say that the club will need to bolster their options in the heart of defence between now and the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

The Canaries conceded 84 goals in the Premier League last season and thus could potentially struggle to prevent their opponents from causing all kinds of issues in the upcoming term if they don't sign some new players.
