Norwich City defender Martin Olsson's move to Premier League side West Bromwich Albion broke down late last night, according to the South Wales Evening Post.

Swansea City were also eyeing up a move for the Swedish international, but West Brom's bid was accepted. The deal involved the payment of £1 million and Albion midfielder Graham Dorrans joining the Canaries.

Reports suggest that the move died due to Olsson not managing to turn up to the Midlands club in time for a medical, but others suggest that he wanted a relegation clause inserted into his contract, but West Brom refused to do so.

Swansea had been chasing a move for the 26-year-old throughout the January period and tabled some bids but failed to thrash out a deal to sign the full back.

Norwich themselves were busy yesterday on deadline day, their new manager Alex Neil was very keen on bringing in new recruits before the window shut.

Their were rumours he had a number of targets from his old side Hamilton Academical, which came to fruition when they signed French forward Tony Andreu from the Scottish side.

Andreu had been the top scorer in the Scottish Premier League having scored 12 times during the season. Hamilton told their fans that they were braced for a bid, and said they could do nothing to stop it if an offer came in.

Meanwhile, striker Kyle Lafferty joined Turkish outfit Caykur Rizespor on loan until the end of the season. He had been the top goalscorer at Italian side Palermo last season and joined Norwich in the summer. He's made 20 appearances having scored once.

Norwich, after starting well, have fallen down the table, but are now looking upwards. They're in eighth place having accumulated 44 points this season.
