Norwich City have secured a €17million deal to sign Galatasaray forward Mbaye Diagne this summer, according to reports from Turkish media outlet Boxer.

After lifting the Sky Bet Championship title this season, the Canaries will be preparing for life in the Premier League and identifying plenty of transfer targets ahead of the new season.

Diagne is a player that has been linked with a move to Carrow Road, after enduring a hugely impressive season in the Turkish Super League.

The powerful 27-year-old started the season off in quite incredible style, scoring 20 goals in the opening 17 league games for Kasimpasa, before moving to Galatasaray in January.

The Senegalese forward has since scored 10 goals in 12 league appearances for the Turkish club, but could be set to move to England in the summer if reports are to believed.

Now, Boxer claim that Norwich have secured a deal worth €17million to sign the powerful forward, who was linked with a move to Leeds United before his move to Galatasaray in January.

Teemu Pukki finished top scorer in the Championship this season, but the Finnish forward will need competition next season if Daniel Farke's side are to cement their place in the top-flight.

The Verdict

I don't quite know what to make about this latest news.

Diagne is clearly a very good striker and is scoring goals for fun in the Turkish league, but the amount of money Norwich are supposedly paying for him doesn't seem like them at all.

Farke likes to sign bargain players, and blowing up to €17million on an unproven forward seems a lot to me.
