Norwich City defender Timm Klose is wanted by a duo of clubs.

According to the print edition of The Daily Star, reported via the Sky Sports News Transfer Talk page, Klose is a target for Hannover 96 and FC Basel.

Swiss top division side Basel are rivalling Hannover - who play in the Bundesliga - for the signing of Klose in a £3.5m deal.

The 30-year-old has been with the Canaries since January 2016, initially featuring for the club in the Premier League and then playing two full seasons in the second tier.

Klose has played 88 games for Norwich in total, including all three league matches this season.

The towering 6ft 4in centre-half started his career in the Basel academy and he could return to his first club.

The 12-cap Switzerland international could also move back to Germany, where he was born and where he previously played for FC Nurnberg and VfL Wolfsburg before moving to Norwich.

The Verdict

Klose has been a rock at the back for Norwich in the Championship and his partnership with Grant Hanley is a strong one.

He is tough to beat in the air and always puts 100% in.

But £3.5m is an appealing fee for someone who is now the wrong side of 30 and Norwich might cash in.
