In their preparation for the tie against Middlesbrough on Monday, the Canaries have spent two days training at a North London training base before making the trip to Wembley to take in the surroundings.

The former Hamilton boss took his side to the national stadium with the hope they can know what to expect come Monday.

Speaking to Norwich's official Youtube channel, Alex Neil said: ''It is important they are not overawed when they go there on Monday if it was the first time for some of them. They have seen the stadium, they have been in the changing room where they will get changed, just so they know what is coming.''

The 33-year-old admitted it was his first time visiting the impressive home of English football but insisted it is all about the players on the pitch doing their job of helping to achieve promotion to the Premier League. ''It was my first time as well and it is something else. It is a top quality stadium. For me, however, it is about the 11 on the pitch doing the job.''

Neil then told Norwich City's official YouTube channel of the importance of making this play off final experience a good one for him and his players. ''It is one of the highlights of your career. I keep reminding the players they may never get this opportunity again and for a lot of them it will be their first time. You want to make sure it is a good experience and that only comes if you win.''

The young boss has had a fantastic time as boss of the Canaries so far guiding them into third spot comfortably since his arrival from Scotland. By winning on Monday, the Norwich City boss could easily become a local hero if he is to take them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
