Norwich City boss honest about recent run of form, knows there are still doubters

Norwich City boss Alex Neil has admitted a recent upturn in results has helped, but will not have convinced all fans he is the right man for the job, reports the Eastern Daily Press.

Neil’s side have won three consecutive Sky Bet Championship fixtures, against Wolves, Birmingham and Cardiff, firing them back into Play-Off contention after a terrible run of form ruined their chances for automatic promotion.

The Canaries’ boss told the EDP: ““I am not naive and think everything is fine. From the fans’ point of view there are still a lot of them unconvinced because it has only been three games.

“The ones voicing concerns on that bad run will still be voicing those.”

After an impressive start to the season, Norwich’s form began to slip following a 3-2 defeat to Leeds United in November.

Poor results over Christmas left the Canaries off the pace in the race for the top six, though recent performances have put them back in contention as the business end of the campaign fast approaches.

Cameron Jerome netted his ninth goal of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Cardiff, which moved Neil’s side within three points of sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

The East Anglian outfit face Wigan Athletic this evening, knowing a win will see them overtake Wednesday on goal difference.
