Swansea City are eyeing Olsson

Swedish international, Martin Olsson is on the radar of Premier League side Swansea City as reported on FLW, however, it seems that there is more substance to the speculation regarding Olsson.

Speaking on the issue, the Canaries boss said to EDP24, "There has been interest from Swansea but nothing has happened as of yet. I am fully aware of what is going on in the background but there is nothing concrete at the moment to talk about,” he said.

“It is just interest and a bit of speculation. Once we get the (Cardiff) game out of the way then we are coming towards the second half of the window and I am sure things will heat up, not only for Martin, but probably for others as well.

“If someone has an interest in our players we will speak to them or if we want to look at a player we will do that.

“That happens at every club and particularly the bigger clubs in the Championship. There will always be speculation because if there wasn’t what are the agents all doing? Agents drop wee bits in here and there and that will always happen but the guys are professionals."

The 26-year-old, Swedish international has made 58 appearances since joining the Canaries in 2013, from Blackburn Rovers.

Olsson has provided consistency and quality in the left back position, whilst keeping former Manchester City star, Javier Garrido out of the starting line up.

Olsson would be a huge loss to City if Swansea were able to capture him, but Garry Monk will have to be ready to pay the big bucks if Norwich were to consider an offer.
