Norwich City have confirmed that their Head Goalkeeping Coach, Dean Kiely, has left the club via mutual consent.

46-year-old former Republic of Ireland international Kiely had been at Carrow Road since 2015, but is set for pastures new.

Kiely, who was capped eleven times his country and made 664 career appearances, started his career at Coventry City, where he failed to play a single match for the first team, before moving to York in July 1990.

Following six years with the Minstermen, he joined Bury, where he was an ever-present for three seasons, before being snapped up for £1m - a fairly substantial sum of money in 1999 - by Charlton Athletic.

It was the Addicks that Kiely became most synonymous with, and he cemented his reputation as a consistent Premier League goalkeeper at the Valley, making 222 league appearances with the London side.

Kiely then spent brief spells with Portsmouth and Luton, before finishing his career with West Bromwich Albion as they oscillated between the Premier League and the Championship, from 2007 until 2011.

It was at the Hawthorns that Kiely began his coaching career, with the consumate professional trying to pass on the skills that kept him in the top division of English football for so many years.

Eventually, Kiely ended up in a similar role to the one he has just vacated at Carrow Road, at the Hawthorns, before his spell in the West Midlands came to an end in January 2015.
