Middlesbrough forward Lee Tomlin is a target for Premier League newcomers Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth, HITC Sport understands.
Tomlin has been a key player for Boro since joining from Peterborough United, initially on loan, in January 2014 and impressed last season as the Teesside club narrowly missed out on promotion last season when they were beaten by the Canaries in the play-off final.
Boss Aitor Karanka is determined to go one better this year with the Riverside outfit and has given a statement of intent by bringing back former England international Stewart Downing to the North East.
Attackers Christian Stuani and Diego Fabbrini have also joined in recent times and they maybe willing to let Tomlin leave if the price is right.
The 26-year-old caught the eye of Norwich manager Alex Neil and now Neil wants to bring him to Carrow Road as he looks to build a squad that can fight against relegation this coming season.
But they face competition from Bournemouth, who themselves are preparing for life in the Premier League.
Cherries boss Eddie Howe is monitoring the situation, but HITC Sport understands that Norwich are set to test Boro’s resolve for the talented forward.
Tomlin has scored 11 goals in 42 appearances since joining Middlesbrough.
