Josh Murphy has taken to his personal Twitter account to praise the effort of his Norwich City teammates, after they progressed through to the fourth-round of the Carabao Cup last night.

Daniel Farke’s side stormed to a 3-1 victory over Brentford at Griffin Park to progress, with the Canaries in complete control against their Sky Bet Championship rivals.

Mario Vrancic’s brace and a deft finish from Murphy put Norwich in full control, before Josh Clarke struck a late consolation for the Bees.

Murphy, 22, took to social media after the game to issue a message, which read: “Love this cup.

“Another great performance from the boys.”

Despite progressing through the first three rounds of the Carabao Cup, it has been a frustrating start to the 2017/18 campaign for Farke and Norwich, who made a slow start to the Championship season.

Things have picked up for Norwich since the international break, with Farke’s side picking up seven points from a possible nine in the Championship, keeping three consecutive clean sheets.

Norwich’s attention will now turn back to the Championship, when they face another hectic week.

Farke’s side welcome Bristol City to Carrow Road on Saturday, before back-to-back away games against Middlesbrough and Reading complete the month.

The Verdict

Murphy helped Norwich to a comfortable victory in the Carabao Cup last night, with the Canaries never under any serious threat of losing the tie.

The 22-year-old took his goal well and proved to be a threat to Brentford for the majority of the fixture, continuing the success he has already had in the Carabao Cup this season.

Norwich have had an excellent start to September, and Farke will be hoping his side can pull more confidence from last night’s victory heading into a tough week.
