Norwich and Stoke City are both interested in signing Chelsea winger Lucas Piazon during the January transfer window, a report from TuttoMercatoWeb has claimed.
Piazon is currently in his second consecutive season on loan with Rio Ave, and has so far made a total of 34 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese top-flight club, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
However, it now seems as though Piazon – who has made just three appearances for Chelsea and is now on loan with his seventh different club – could be set for a new destination this month.
According to this latest update, Piazon is now set to spend the second half of the season elsewhere, with three clubs said to be interested in the 26-year-old.
Both Norwich and Stoke are said to be open to bringing the winger back to the Championship, where he has previously both played for both Fulham and Reading, while there is also reportedly interest from Bordeaux in France.
It remains to be seen whether any interest in Piazon would lead to a permanent or loan deal for the winger, who has around 18 months remaining on his contract with Chelsea, securing his future with the Blues until the end of next season.
You do feel as though Piazon could be a decent signing for either Norwich or Stoke.
The winger’s loan spells have seen him compete at top-flight in several different countries during his career so far, while his time in the Championship with Fulham also saw him impress.
As a result, you do feel as though the Piazon could be a useful for one of these two sides during the second half of the campaign, and potentially beyond, given you feel he needs to start looking for a longer term club after so many different loan spells.
However, given the interest there is in the 26-year-old from Bordeaux, you do wonder slightly whether it could be difficult for one of Norwich and Stoke to actually pull this deal off.
