Norwich and Sheffield United have already begun assessing their transfer options as they look to bolster their squads ahead of their Premier League returns.

Both clubs have been linked with a string of names in recent weeks, but it now appears they are both in for the same defender.

According to El Bocon, Tigres' Luis Advincula is on Daniel Farke and Chris Wilder's radar following his loan spell at Rayo Vallecano this term.

He made 28 appearances for the Spanish side, scoring one goal and registering four assists, but failed to help prevent the club's relegation from La Liga.

The report claims Advincula is keen to remain in Europe following the completion of his loan spell, and it now appears the English top-flight is a possible destination.

The Peru international operates at right-back and would add depth to both squads. Max Aarons has excelled in the position for the Canaries this season, while Blades' wing-back George Baldock has also produced consistent performances in the second half of the season. This means it could leave one manager with some tough decisions to make if a deal is secured.

The Verdict

Advincula has had an impressive personal campaign, and he would definitely be a good addition to both squads.

Even though both clubs have established figures in the right-back role already, they could both do with some fresh faces for the challenges of the Premier League.

Advincula is a player who comes with international pedigree and top-flight experience on the continent. He's the exact kind of player Norwich and Sheffield United should be targeting.
