A trio of Championship clubs are in the hunt to sign Rotherham talisman, Will Vaulks ahead of the January transfer window according to a recent report from the Daily Mail.

Norwich, Derby and Stoke are all said to be interested in a deal for the Rotherham midfielder who has been hugely impressive for the relegation threatened side in recent seasons.

The 26-year-old has made 115 appearances for the Millers since he joined from Falkirk in 2016, and has been hugely impressive and certainly has the ability to be playing for a better-placed side in the Championship.

The midfielder has 18 months remaining on his current deal at Rotherham and the club could be tempted to cash in on their talisman, so that they can strengthen their squad in other areas whilst Vaulks' value remains as high as it could be.

It is thought that the Millers value Vaulks at £1.5m and that price tag could be met by one of the trio of clubs chasing his signature in January when the transfer window reopens.

Vaulks will be looking to remain grounded and focus on matters on the pitch as his side battle to retain their Championship status.

Paul Warne's side take on West Brom this weekend in what is going to be a tough game to pick up three points against a Baggies side that will be confident of justifying their promotion credentials.

The Verdict:

I'm not surprised to see Vaulks attracting interest ahead of January.

He has been the standout performer for Rotherham in recent seasons and he deserves a move to a more reputable club.

Out of all of the clubs interested in a deal for him, I would say that Norwich could be the most attractive option for Vaulks, as competition for places in the centre of midfield isn't as fiercely competitive as it is at both Derby and Stoke.
