Newly promoted Norwich City are among the clubs looking to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

According to the Daily Mail, the Canaries, along with Bournemouth and Watford are keen on the Reds stopper, who has been frozen out at Anfield followin the big money arrival of Brazilian Allisson.

Mignolet though will not be allowed to leave Liverpool for anything less than £15m according to the report, with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp seemingly determined to get a decent fee for his former number one.

The Belgian stopper came in for a whole host of criticism last season as he struggled alongside Loris Karius in the Liverpool net, and he was ultimately blamed for the club's failure to mount a more significant title challenge, something which has been proved right somewhat this season with the Reds' form.

However, there remains interest in Mignolet, and Norwich are one of the clubs looking to add some Premier League experience to the ranks as they prepare for what is set to be a tough battle to maintain their Premier League status under Daniel Farke.

Mignolet, who has had a spell with Sunderland before his move to Anfield, is 32 next, and will be keen to start playing regular first-team football after losing his place at Anfield.

The Verdict

Mignolet needs to get a move for himself but I'd be very wary if I was Norwich on this one.

The Belgian is nowhere near what he once was and at £15m, it seems an extortionate fee to pay for someone who is not actually top class anymore.

Norwich can do better, and might be wise to look elsewhere in all honesty.
