According to a report by Eastern Daily Press, Norwich City have agreed a deal to sign Emiliano Buendia this summer.

Emi is set for a £1.5m switch to Carrow Road, subject to agreeing personal terms.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Leeds United and Swansea City but it looks like Norwich have won the race for the Getafe youngster, who impressed on loan this season.

Emi spent the year on loan at Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa in the Segunda Division, despite their relegation to the third tier of Spanish football.

He won the player of the season award after contributing with an impressive tally of six goals and 13 assists in 40 matches for Leonesa.

Now the Argentina under-20 international is set to leave Spain to pursue his career in the English leagues.

The former Real Madrid academy player joined Getafe's youth system in 2010 and has played for them in both La Liga and the Segunda Division.

Able to play on either wing or as a central attacking midfielder, the former Spain under-19 international's versatility has been attracting Daniel Farke, who is set to complete this move.

The Verdict

Emi is considered to be a very exciting young attacker and he could be a long-term replacement for James Maddison, who is set for a Premier League move this summer, and Alex Pritchard - who departed for Huddersfield Town in January.

The playmaker will need some time to adjust to English football and get up to speed with Farke's tactics but if he fulfils his potential, Norwich will have a top player on their books.

His versatility and creativity would add a lot to Norwich's ranks and his price is quite low considering today's market.
