Leeds United fell to a shock, 3-2 defeat to already-relegated, Ipswich Town at the weekend, as they head into the play-offs in a poor run of form.

The Whites dominated the game on the day, but failed to take their chances which ultimately cost them the game.

Marcelo Bielsa won't be pleased with his side's lack of cutting edge in front of goal, with Kemar Roofe again failing to find the back of the next, having blazed his penalty kick over the bar in the second-half.

Leeds certainly seem to have a problem from the spot, which will be a great concern for supporters heading into the play-offs, where their fate could potentially be decided from the penalty spot.

Former Leeds United star, Noel Whelan feels that Mateusz Klich should be stepping up and taking penalties from now on, with his record already making impressive reading.

"I would have Mateusz Klich as the penalty taker, and then Hernandez," Whelan told Football Insider.

"Klich has scored penalties at his previous clubs and for the national team, his record is brilliant in that respect."

But Whelan also feels that they could rely on Hernandez to step forward, who has only missed one penalty all season.

"Alternatively, you can go for the most experienced player, who is Hernandez. At least, the one he missed hit the post. You look at Bamford and Roofe’s penalties, and they were embarrassing. The misses weren’t down to bad luck."

Marcelo Bielsa will surely be looking at having this issue addressed at the earliest of opportunities, with the play-offs being make or break for his side.

They take on Derby County at the weekend, in the first-leg of their play-off semi-final.

The Verdict:

They need to have this sorted ASAP.

Leeds simply cannot be throwing anymore opportunities away from the penalty spot, and I have no idea as to why they haven't called upon Klich to step forward already.

He's one of the best striker's of the ball at Leeds and he needs to step up and take on this responsibility.

I completely agree with Whelan here.
