Birmingham City suffered a fourth consecutive away defeat in the Championship last Saturday at the hands of Cardiff City who secured a much-needed three points in front of their own supporters.

Despite taking the lead in the third minute via a strike from Kristian Pedersen, the Blues were pegged back as Joe Ralls netted a penalty for the Bluebirds.

Curtis Nelson then fired the hosts ahead from close range after goalkeeper Lee Camp could only block Aden Flint's effort.

Although Cardiff were reduced to ten-men following the break, Ralls added a third for Neil Warnock's side in the 69th minute.

Whilst Ivan Sunjic reduced the deficit for Birmingham in the closing stages of the game, their hopes of securing a draw were extinguished after Harlee Dean was sent-off in stoppage-time.

Ralls completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Marc Roberts fouled Omar Bogle in the area.

Whereas Mrabti did illustrate some real signs of promise during this clash, he has yet to find the back of the net for Birmingham this season.

With Alvaro Gimenez and Lukas Jutkiewicz also struggling to produce the goods on a consistent basis in the Championship, it will be intriguing to see whether the Blues opt to bolster their attacking options during the January transfer window.

After Blues HQ asked their followers if Mrabti should be dropped by caretaker head coach Pep Clotet for the club's clash with Fulham next Saturday, these Birmingham fans offered their thoughts on the matter on Twitter.
