Like Ross McCormack, Micah Richards hasn't had the best of times at Aston Villa.

The 30-year old burst onto the scene with Manchester City in 2006 and looked to be an England international for years to come. He had a raw pace and energy about him which should have led him to greater things.

In 2015 he joined Aston Villa after never quite achieving his potential and he kept up the under-achieving in the Midlands. In four years he's made just 26 league appearances, with just two coming since their relegation.

He was told he wouldn't be selected for the side by Steve Bruce, but seemed happy to remain at the club and collect his wages, rather than look elsewhere.

Manager Dean Smith is going to monitor his fitness now, perhaps with a view to bringing him back into the fold. He's reportedly 'way off' the pace at the moment, but could there be redemption at the end of his awful spell?

Some of the Villa fans on Twitter think there could. Others are not so sure. Here's their assessment.
