Bristol City have been searching for a new striker across the past six months, with plenty of setbacks along the way as Lee Johnson attempts to find a man capable of scoring 20 goals a season.

The Robins were turned down by Arsenal earlier this month as they attempted to bring in young forward Eddie Nketiah on loan, while Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster opted for the delights of Swansea City over a loan move to Ashton Gate.

City manager Lee Johnson has now set his sights on Peterborough United striker Ivan Toney, who has netted 19 goals in 33 games across all competitions this season.

The Robins will need to fork out a club-record figure if they are to bring the 23-year-old to the south west, with Peterborough thought to be holding out for a minimum of £9 million for one of their star talents, a figure that Bristol City haven't been put off by.
