With the transfer window set to close on Friday, Nottingham Forest will be aiming to finally seal a deal for a new striker following weeks of speculation.

Having been linked with a plethora of players, it will be intriguing to see who manager Sabri Lamouchi opts to swoop for in the coming days.

One player who could be on the move is Connor Wickham who is the subject of interest from a number of Championship clubs.

According to the Evening Standard, Forest reportedly contacted Crystal Palace over the possibility of signing the forward earlier this month.

Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City have since entered the race to sign Wickham who has been forced to watch on from the sidelines at Selhurst Park for the majority of the 2019/20 campaign.

Limited to just eight appearances in all competitions, the 26-year-old may find it beneficial to leave Palace as it could give him a better opportunity to play regular first-team football.

Although Lewis Grabban has managed to find the back of the net on 16 occasions for the Reds this season, he could potentially take his game to new heights by receiving some competition up-front from Wickham.

After City Ground HQ asked their followers whether they would welcome a move for Wickham, these Forest fans offered their thoughts on Twitter.
