Not many Leeds fans will ever see a game against Manchester United as a friendly, but that's what is set to happen in pre-season next year.

It was announced on the club's official Twitter page, that the two English giants will face off in a pre-season friendly in Perth in July 2019.

The clash will be the first time the two teams have met in eight years, so it is sure to be a fiercely competitive meeting between the two rivals.

Leeds' managing director, Angus Kinnear spoke about the prospect of facing the Red Devils and expects it to be played in front of a sell-out crowd in Australia.

"The trip, including the game against long-standing rivals Manchester United and some more fixtures to be announced, will be a fantastic part of our centenary season and is expected to attract thousands of visitors."

It's fair to say the reaction to the shock announcement was met with some interesting comments.
