Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka may at last have realised that 'less is more' having finally decided to release some players in January from his inflated first team squad.

One player who has been given the all-clear to leave the City Ground is 29-year-old defensive midfielder Liam Bridcutt, according to Football Insider, who has only played a handful of league and cup matches for Forest this season.

So are Forest right to offload Bridcutt?

We discuss.....

Imagine my surprise, that Liam Bridcutt has no future at Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder has played one minute of Championship action and has been incredibly out of favour this term and it is the most obvious decision that Aitor Karanka could make.

I don’t see a lack of interest for a player of his calibre and I see his future being sorted as close to January 1 as humanly possible.

Gary Hutchinson

No surprise at all.

Bridcutt is a good player but his face doesn’t fit.

He’s a saleable asset too, he would fit in most lower table Championship sides.

Birmingham should snap him up, or Ipswich. Someone who needs the midfield steel and experience.

George Dagless

No shocks there.

Bridcutt is a good player and needs to be playing so it makes sense for all involved that he moves on.

Plenty of clubs should be interested in him.
