‘No shock there’ – QPR fans react to recent club announcement

Queens Park Rangers have announced that Jamie Mackie and James Perch will be leaving the club at the end of the season and the news has drawn Rangers fans to Twitter to express their opinion.
32-year old Mackie has become something of a Loftus Road legend after having two spells with the club. He played in between 2010 and 2013, before leaving for Nottingham Forest for £1m. After two year at Forest he was released re-joining QPR for nothing in 2015. This season he’s scored four times, but hasn’t played since being sent off in December against Preston.
Defender Perch is another who spent time at Forest, he started there in 2004 and spent six years at the City Ground before moving to Newcastle United. He arrived at Loftus Road in 2015 for an undisclosed fee, but has played just seven games so far this season.
With Ian Holloway currently cultivating a new, young side with lots of creativity and pace, there’s going to be no room for the aging pair next season, something that some fans feel is perhaps unjust. Whilst the decision is viewed as current from a playing perspective, Mackie’s departure in particular isn’t universally popular.
Would love to keep Mackie as one of the background coaches. His enthusiasm is great for the team and club.

Perch I’m 50:50. Mackie though, never ever question his adoration for our club. Will miss the guy.

I will always like Mackie and perch has been a good servant but the time is right for them both to leave. Wish them both luck. Robinson and onouha we must tie down with new contracts though

Will always love Jamie. Injury problems and age dictate though. Still a legend at QPR.
