BBC Radio Sports Sheffield journalist Jonathan Buchan tweeted his Sky Bet Championship team of the year and it was met with plenty of reaction from fans.

Buchan’s team of the year included 3 Brighton players, 2 Leeds players, 2 Newcastle players, 2 Fulham players and 2 Huddersfield players and they were managed by Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom.

Brighton’s David Stockdale was selected in goal, with defensive quartet of Tommy Smith (Huddersfield), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Kyle Bartley (Leeds) and Scott Malone (Fulham) in front of him.

In midfield, Buchan opted for three players: Huddersfield’s Aaron Mooy in the centre with Fulham’s Tom Cairney and Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey on either side of him.

One one flank up front was Anthony Knockaert of Brighton and he was joined by the Championship’s top scoring duo: 22-goal Chris Wood (Leeds) and 21-goal Dwight Gayle (Newcastle).

As expected, this “team of the season” drew plenty of Twitter reaction with fans queuing up to offer Buchan their opinion.
