Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder insists he does not need to give his side a rocket following their loss to Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star following the game, Wilder pointed out he thought his team were by far the better side and was impressed with the performance his team gave after a week of difficult but successful results for the Blades.

Wilder admitted: "I don't know whether to cry or smile, but I think I will go down the smiling route because it was confirmed today that my team has landed in the Championship, with the performance we produced.

"It was an outstanding performance, one that did not get rewarded with a win."

The Blades have been in superb form this season and have surprised many with their performances and wins. They took the lead at Forest through an early John Lundstram goal, but were pegged back when Jason Cummings and Kieran Dowell hit the back of the net for the Reds.

Wilder will be keen for his Blades side to get back to winning ways following the international break, with two home games due following a run of tough looking away fixtures throughout September.
