It's been an incredibly underwhelming season for Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls would have been hoping for a push for promotion this season, and after an initial period where it looked like that could happen, their form curtailed and they dropped down the Championship table at a rapid rate.

The Yorkshire side now reside in 15th spot in the league table and any hopes of securing a play-off spot now look like a pipe dream, with just nine games of the 2019/20 season left to play.

In January, many Owls fans would have been hopeful that the loan signing of Connor Wickham from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace would have provided Monk with an additional source of goals, easing the burden on Scottish forward Steven Fletcher.

However, since arriving the 27-year-old has made just seven appearances for the Owls, not scoring or assisting once.

Wickham, has since become the topic of debate from many Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media, after fan Twitter account Owls HQ asked the following question: 'Do you think we should launch a permanent move for Connor Wickham this summer? Or forget about him?'
