Plenty of Charlton Athletic fans have weighed in on a small dilemma facing them when they clash with Hull City at The Valley this weekend.

Former Addicks' striker Josh Magennis made the move to the K Com in the summer from Bolton Wanderers having previously spent two years under the stewardship of Karl Robinson and Lee Bowyer.

During that time he netted 20 goals in 88 appearances although his decision to leave for The Trotters certainly split opinion back in the summer of 2018.

Since arriving at Hull he has netted four times in 13 appearances, although starting opportunities have been few and far between under Grant McCann, with Jarrod Bowen continuing his exceptional form and Tom Eaves slowly impressing as well.

A debate raged among Charlton fans on Facebook ahead of his return recently with the question being put to them of what sort of reception he should get; Booed, clapped or ignored?

Here is what they had to say...

Steven Kennedy "Ignore. He's pretty easy to ignore"

Jack Bennett "Ignore, he wasn’t the best of strikers but to be fair he had a lot of rubbish around him first season he was with us and put a shift in."

Pete Barber "I’d clap him, out of respect. But only 2 claps".

Jesse Ince "Don’t think he’s worth either."

Andrew Guard "No need to boo.... he did his best but weren’t that good!"

Steve Tracey "Clap him, he did us a favour leaving 😂"

Steve Spyvee "Why do we always make a thing of it, I never have an issue with someone who wore the shirt and gave their all."
