Nottingham Forest have had a solid start to proceedings this season and that is probably all they could have asked for at the start of the campaign.

After just surviving last season many Reds fans would have probably taken a year of stability and so to have the idea of a play-off challenge on their mind is certainly welcome.

For sure, though, they need a bit more consistency for that to really become a seriously attainable aim and they'll be looking for the likes of Daryl Murphy and Barrie McKay to get them motoring up the league.

However, neither of those two are considered as Forest's most valuable star - as per transfermarkt - whilst Ben Osborn and Ben Brereton also do not get a look in.

Indeed, the website actually believes Liam Bridcutt, who signed from Leeds in the summer, and forward Zach Clough are the most valuable assets the club has - both at £2.25 million.

Bridcutt, then, you might argue for given that he has come straight into the side and looks a solid player but he hasn't exactly been there long, nor done anything truly extraordinary.

Zach Clough, meanwhile, has plenty of potential but he's not scored so far this season and you could argue Brereton has even brighter prospects than him.

For sure, it's an interesting debate to be had and Forest fans will ultimately be hoping that it's a team effort that gets them into the play-offs, rather than having to rely on individuals.
