Everton midfielder Andre Gomes is back training with the first team after his gruesome injury last year, which has left plenty of Leeds United fans questioning how Adam Forshaw is yet to return.

Forshaw began the season as a key player for the Whites, starting their first six Championship games, but has been missing for months with a mysterious injury.

The midfielder has not featured for Marcelo Bielsa's first-team since September as he is understood to still be struggling with a hip injury.

The 28-year-old's continued absence has been made even more damaging by Kalvin Phillips' suspension, as Forshaw is the player most suited to replacing him defensive midfield.

Across the country in the North West, Everton received a recent boost as Gomes has returned to training less than three months after suffering a gruesome ankle break against Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder took to Twitter to reveal that he was well on his way to recovery.

That appears to have caught the attention of many Leeds fans, who took to Twitter to question how the Portugal international could return so quickly but Forshaw remained absent.
