Cardiff City fans will no doubt be glued to their internet browsers over the coming days as they wait to see who the club will appoint as their new manager, following the news of Neil Warnock's departure yesterday evening.

The 70-year-old former Sheffield United boss leaves the club in 14th place of the Championship table, following a sub-par start for a team that many people were tipping to be fighting it out for promotion back to the Premier League.

The Bluebirds must now regroup under the stewardship of a new manager at the helm, with speculation rife as to who could fill the void that has been left by Warnock.

With various names being linked with the post this morning, it is perhaps unsurprising that fans have also been throwing names into the ring for the job.

One particular member of the Cardiff City faithful took to Facebook to put former Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes forward as a potential candidate for the role, prompting quite a response from many supporters via social media.

Steve Stephens: No keep him away.

Elliott Batte: Be nice to have a Welsh manager in my opinion.

Alan Wright: He's a draw specialist and Warnock drew a few this season.

Milo Kinsey: Would rather Hughes than Harris, praying it's not Harris.

Bradley Kinsey: Rather Chris Hughton.

Keaton Avery: Definitely not.

Ron Johnston: Are you mad?

Lee Facey: No way.
