Birmingham City have released an official statement on the club's website to confirm that the Board of Directors are unequivocally throwing their backing behind Steve Cotterill.

The Blues will keep Steve Cotterill in charge of the club despite them being bottom of the league under his guidance.

The former Bristol City manager took the reins earlier this season, succeeding Harry Redknapp after he was sacked.

Since then, Cotterill has managed just two wins in eleven games with one draw and eight losses during that spell too.

This has seen Birmingham drop to the bottom of the division.

But the board has instead shifted the blame away from Cotterill, insisting that injuries are one of the main reasons behind the bad form this term and also noting that he inherited this situation from previous management.

Birmingham fans flocked to Twitter to express their discontent with this announcement and here are the best tweets.
